KIDS CLASSES

Boulder Ballet School would like to invite you to join our community of students, parents, faculty, staff, and avid dance lovers! Please see below for information regarding our BBS 2025-26 School Year. Under each of our Divisions, you will see more information regarding classes, performance opportunities, and registration details.

We can’t wait to start a new year with you!

  • Ages 1-3

    A delightful introduction into the world of dance, exploring movement and music in a safe, encouraging, and fun manner. Dancer participates with a parent or guardian. Focus on musicality, rhythm, and movement through playful activities.

  • Ages 3-5

    Exploration of movement and music with an emphasis on developing coordination through creativity, rhythm, teamwork, and physicality.

  • PRE-BALLET 1

    Ages 5+

    Foundational ballet positions and classroom etiquette through fun, age-appropriate movement.

    PRE-BALLET 2

    Ages 6+ (by invitation only)

    Introduction of more ballet vocabulary and motor skills; preparing for formal technique.

  • BALLET 1A

    Ages 7+

    Introduction to structured ballet technique in a classroom setting. Focus on alignment, coordination, and musical awareness.

    BALLET 1B

    Ages 8+

    Builds on 1A with increased focus on alignment, balance, and movement quality.

  • LEVEL 2A

    Ages 9+

    Emphasis on clean execution of foundational skills; 9 year olds and up eligible for BBS productions for those who are ready.

    LEVEL 2B

    Expands on prior technique with added complexity and attention to detail. Focus on strength and musicality.

  • LEVEL 3

    More rigorous technique work; introduces longer combinations and performance readiness.

    LEVELS 3A/3B

    Deeper understanding of ballet anatomy and alignment. Prepares dancers for pre-pointe/Pointe Safe Program.

  • Ages 7-10


    This fun, energetic class is just for boys! Dancers build strength, coordination, and confidence through ballet basics and dynamic movement games. Each class combines athletic ballet training with age-appropriate conditioning to improve balance, flexibility, and focus. Perfect for active boys who love to move, jump, and explore dance in a supportive environment. 

  • BEGINNING TEEN BALLET

    Ages 12-15

    Designed for students who are new to ballet and want to explore classical ballet training in a fun and nurturing environment! No dance experience necessary!

    BEGINNING BILINGUAL BALLET - JUNIOR

    Perfect for beginners or dancers with several years of dance experience, this class invites you to explore ballet terminology and fundamentals in an inclusive, welcoming environment - open to both bilingual or non-bilingual dancers!

  • Students work through our Pointe Safe Program with possible introduction to pointe shoes for eligible dancers.

    Emphasis on strength, stability, kinesthetic awareness, and technical precision.

  • LEVEL 5A

    Advanced combinations, artistic expression, and performance readiness. Focus on detailed pointe work & foot articulation.

    LEVEL 5B

    Deepening artistry, dynamics, stamina, and more complex choreography. Highlighting pre-professional/college preparation.

  • Rigorous focus on classical, contemporary, and repertoire. Focused on technical excellence and performance.

  • Our Pre-Professional Division gives dancers who are wanting to move towards a professional career or want to dive deeper into their training the chance to explore competitions, additional performance opportunities, more detailed coaching, and a more rigorous schedule.

*Snow Days will be announced on Instagram and on our website. We follow the BVSD guidelines for closures. No refunds will be given for school closures due to weather. Dancers are welcome to arrange with the office manager to take a makeup class.
